Pumpkin season is back in Ontario

The pumpkin ale season is in back in full force prepping Ontario beer drinkers for the looming Fall months.

Back in stores now are pumpkin-based ales from Great Lakes Brewery and Black Creek Historic Brewery in Toronto and Grand River Brewing Co. in Cambridge. All are returning seasonals.

Great Lakes’ Pumpkin Ale measures at 5.5% ABV brewed with pumpkin mixed with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and allspice. Available at the LCBO and Great Lakes retail store, its Pumpkin All sells for $4.95 in 650 mL bottles.

grand-river-pumpkinGrand River’s Highballer Pumpkin Ale utilizes pumpkins grown personally by owner Bob Hannenberg, and merged with cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cloves and vanilla. In 500 mL bottles, Highballer Pumpkin Ale can be found in LCBOs for $3.95 weighing at 5.2%.

black-creek-pumpkinIn Black Creek’s Pumpkin Ale, cinnamon, ginger, and clove join pumpkin in the brewing process measuring at 5% ABV. Pick up Pioneer Village’s offering at LCBO locations for $3.95 in 500 mL bottles.
