Norseman barrel-aged Eisbock out from Bush Pilot Brewing

Burlington, ON – Norseman is the newest release from Bush Pilot Brewing Co., a German-style Eisbock matured in Armagnac brandy barrels.

Inspired by the Noorduyn Norseman, a Canadian-designed and built bush plane, the 14.5% ABV beer was brewed in conjunction with Kjetil Jikiun of Norway’s Nøgne ø and Nickel Brook Brewing of Burlington.

“…an international, Canadian-Norwegian crew of Norseman got together and started brainstorming on the type of beer,” explains Bush Pilot Brewing. “Being people of the north, the Norseman crew decided that the our beer should be strong and that there should be an element of nature that surrounds us for a good part of the year… ice. Therefore, we decided to brew an eisbock.”

The specialty Armagnac brandy barrels were sourced from the south of France – ranging from ages of 19-23 years old.

Norseman is available now at LCBO locations in 750mL bottles for $12.75 each.
